Taliah Waajid Natural Hair Center specializes in styling, cutting and grooming natural hair, lock start up and maintenance, braiding with or without extensions, healthy hair weaving and many other unique techniques. Taliah's professional staff of natural hair stylists understand the importance of customer service, client consultation, and complete customer satisfaction.

Knowledge:

Our stylists are trained in natural hair care, natural braiding, natural locking, natural weaving, sanitation, speed, accuracy and finishing. When doing extension braiding or weaving our stylists use Undetectable Extensions™, which is compatible with your new growth hair. Whenever possible the stylists of Taliah Waajid Natural Hair Center work consistently on mannequins and other training platforms to improve their existing skills and learn new techniques.

Some styles can be damaging depending on the condition of your hair, scalp or hairline.  During a consultation we assist you with finding a style or technique that will best fit your needs based on your hair condition and lifestyle.  During a consulttion you have the opportunity to freely express your concerns, ask questions and fully understand the services available. How to self check your braided or weaved hair style for potential hair and scalp damage. Place your thumb tip and your pointer finger tip at the base of one of your braids or cornrows. Squeeze gently. Do you feel a knot? If you can feel a knot or a lump then you are at high risk for hair breakage, receding hair line, scalp bumps and other complications which always result in dryness, brittleness, matting, thinning and hair loss. Your braids are also likely to come a loose or slip out. The best way to eliminate this unwanted problem is to check the first few braids you receive. If you detect a knot, ask the stylist to stop.
