Taliah Waajid is a licensed cosmetologist who has over 20 years of professional experience in the field of hair braiding and natural hair care. Taliah Waajid began her hair care career in New York City and graduated from Robert Fiance Cosmetology School.

In 1988 Taliah opened her first hair braiding and natural hair salon in Harlem New York. She moved from New York City to Atlanta GA in 1991 and opened Braids, Weaves & Things Inc. located in College Park, GA. Braids Weaves & Things specialized in extension braiding, twisting, locking, weaving and chemical free hair care. There Taliah quickly built a very reputable name for herself. Taliah Waajid is known for educating clients on the importance of healthy hair. She introduced her clients to natural hair care by sharing information on alternative choices other than chemicals for their hair care. Satisfied customers helped spread the word about Taliah Waajid's professional services and knowledge.

Taliah Waajid's specialized techniques along with her years of experience put her in the forefront of braiding and natural hair care services. The demand for Taliah's services prompted her to hire and train others on her techniques of braiding and natural hair care. With Taliah Waajid's growing popularity, magazines such as Essence, Upscale, Sophisticates Black Hair, Hype Hair and Braids, & Beauty took notice and interest in printing her work. Essence Magazine invited Taliah for several photo shoots that displayed her work. Essence magazine chose Taliah for an article on businesswomen who have taken their businesses and careers to the next level in their fields.

Taliah Waajid is the manufacturer of the first complete natural hair care line.  Through her years of experience and with a help of a chemist TALIAH WAAJID Black Earth Products were devoloped.  The Black Earth Product line is a moisture-based line that focuses on providing maximum conditioning and moisture to hair. 

Also noticing the need for braids and natural hairstyle publications, Taliah self-published her first hairstyling book in 1993 named, "Braid Styles". The book displayed photos of her work and was received very well. Her second book, Hairitage Braids & Weaves was published in 1995. This 300-page book displayed several photos of her work along with the work of other stylists she trained. It included information on the upkeep of natural hair and braids. The book was marketed and sold through trade publication ads and mailing lists. The popularity of the books prompted much interest from aspiring natural hair and braid hairstylist including cosmetologists. These stylist began to seek out Taliah for classes on learning the unique techniques displayed in the books.

Taliah Waajid is highly involved in education. She offers workshops and seminars that teach stylist to braid and create natural hairstyles using her trademark techniques.  Taliah includes hair maintenance and product knowledge in her educational seminars and workshops.  Advertisement in trade magazines and the word of mouth from satisfied students help promote her seminars and workshops. Taliah Waajid also offers education through her video collection, which is the next best thing to actual hands-on training. The uniqueness of her video collection is that Taliah concentrates on teaching the technique, not just showing and talking about the technique.

Because Taliah Waajid strongly believes that continued education is a must for both consumers and stylists; she is the founder of the World Natural Hair, Health & Beauty Show, now in it's 10th year.
